M, me encantaría que pudieras resumir un poco cómo te describes a ti misma a día de hoy y cuáles son tus inquietudes, retos..

Soy de Madrid y actualmente vivo en Londres. Llevo unos años trabajando en fashion tech (primero en Farfetch y luego en Vestiaire Collective) y el año pasado empecé mi proyecto vintage, Lila Archive.

Una vez leí que la gente suele inclinarse por la creatividad 2D o 3D. Desde luego, no soy pintora, pero desde que tengo uso de razón me encanta todo lo que implique hacer: coser, tejer, hacer collages y ¡vestir! De niña siempre iba disfrazada. Creo que mucho de lo que estoy empezando a hacer con Lila me permite jugar con esta parte de mí misma.

Crecí en el centro de Madrid y siempre he ido a El Rastro con mi padre, de ahí quizá mi amor por lo antiguo. En Londres hay mucho que explorar si te gustan las antigüedades, así que sin duda es uno de mis puntos fuertes aquí.

Con Lila Archive, empecé a comisariar y vender piezas vintage especiales de los años 90 y 2000 a través de pop-ups e Instagram. He sido una compradora consciente durante bastante tiempo, pero no hay nada que me guste más que echar un vistazo a lo vintage, así que era algo natural: ¡alguien tenía que sacar provecho de todos estos grandes hallazgos!

Creo que vestir vintage no sólo es sostenible, sino también una forma más única de encontrar el propio estilo, lejos de las tendencias de las tiendas habituales. Tengo muchos sueños y planes para Lila Archive y espero seguir compartiendo mi amor por lo vintage :)

Me encanta todo lo que escribe Alain de Botton. Me sirve para entender el mundo y a mí misma. Con respecto a novelas, me gustan mucho las novelas costumbristas: me gustan las historias sobre la vida cotidiana, el desarrollo profundo de los personajes y entender distintas épocas a través de los libros. Ver lo parecidos que somos a través del tiempo me ayuda a dar sentido al mundo. Me encantan: "Travesuras de la niña mala", cualquier cosa de Pérez Galdós, y por supuesto, "Orgullo y Prejuicio" y "Cumbres borrascosas", son dos de mis clásicos favoritos.

Me encantan las marcas en las que admiro tanto el producto final como el universo que crean. Me encanta Maison Cléo, una marca formada por madre e hija y producida en su atelier de Francia. Sus diseños, sesiones editoriales y desfiles son mis favoritos. Además, su fundadora, Marie, trabajaba en Vestiaire Collective, como yo.

M, I would love it if you could summarize a bit how you describe yourself nowadays and what are your concerns, challenges...

I’m from Madrid and currently living in London. I have been working in fashion tech for a few years (first in Farfetch and then Vestiaire Collective) and last year I started my vintage project, Lila Archive.

I once read that people are usually inclined toward either 2D or 3D creativity. I’m definitely not a painter, but since I can remember I have loved anything that involves making—sewing, knitting, collages, and clothes! As a kid, I was always dressing up. I think a lot of what I am starting to do with Lila allows me to play with this part of myself.

I grew up in the center of Madrid and have always gone to El Rastro with my father, which might be where my love for the old comes from. In London, there’s so much to explore if you love antiques so it’s definitely one of my highlights here.

With Lila Archive, I started curating and selling special 90s and 2000s vintage pieces through pop-ups and Instagram. I’ve been a conscious shopper for quite some time, but there’s nothing I love more than browsing vintage, so it was a natural fit—someone had to get value out of all these great finds!

I think wearing vintage is not only sustainable but also a more unique way to find one’s style, away from the trends of regular stores. I have many dreams and plans for Lila Archive and hope to continue sharing my love for vintage :)

I love everything by Alain de Botton to understand the world and oneself. When it comes to novels, I love realism (costumbrismo?)—I like stories about everyday life, deep character development, and understanding different eras through books. Seeing how similar we are across time helps me make sense of the world. I love Travesuras de la niña mala, anything by Pérez Galdós, and Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights are two of my classic favorites.

I love brands where I admire both the end product and the universe they create. I really love Maison Cléo—a mother-and-daughter brand, all produced in their atelier in France. Their designs, editorial shoots, and runway shows are my absolute favorites. Plus, the founder, Marie, used to work at Vestiaire Collective like me.
