Mario from Metatopy

Mario es un perfil que descubrí a través de su floristería: Metatopy. Creo que añadir mucho más es tontería, métete en la web, cotillea su Instagram y verás de lo que te hablo.

Desde que me puse en contacto con Mario, me dio buena espina y después de leer sus respuestas, quiero salir con él a tomarme algo :)

How would you describe yourself at this point in your life?

Diría que estoy en una etapa de evolución constante. Me gusta observar lo que me rodea, absorberlo y aplicarlo tanto en mi trabajo como en mi vida personal. Siempre he tenido una curiosidad por aquello que no conozco, y esa apertura al cambio es lo que me permite seguir creciendo. Adaptarme, reinventarme y seguir inspirándome es parte esencial de mi día a día como florista.

The Coolest project you have worked on is...

Todos los proyectos tienen algo especial, y siempre intento volcarme por completo en cada uno. Pero si tengo que elegir, recuerdo con mucho cariño la presentación de la marca Zimmermann en su llegada a Madrid. Tuve que crear, casi desde cero, un jardín en plena floración en un jardín existente que estaba en unas condiciones un poco descuidadas. Fue un reto precioso y muy estimulante, tanto por el resultado como por el proceso.

En todo lo que me rodea. Me gusta fijarme en los detalles más pequeños: una textura, una forma inesperada, un reflejo de luz. A veces la inspiración está justo ahí, en lo cotidiano, solo hay que aprender a mirarlo con otros ojos.

Una película que me encanta por su estética y su fotografía es Match Point. En cuanto a libros, Plegarias Atendidas de Truman Capote, es uno de los últimos que me he leído y me atrapó.

The Coolest places in Madrid for a beer/wine with friends?

Corchito. Me encanta la variedad de vinos que tienen y lo acogedor que es el ambiente.

The Coolest place for a date in Madrid?

Me encantan los parques —supongo que por deformación profesional—. Pasear sin rumbo, descubrir nuevas variedades, observar cómo cambia la naturaleza. La Rosaleda del Parque del Oeste es uno de mis rincones favoritos. Las rosas tienen algo mágico, y allí puedes ver muchísimas variedades en un entorno muy especial.

M, who is The Coolest person you know?

Mi novio. Por su forma de ver el mundo, su ingenio y su simpatía. Es una inspiración silenciosa pero muy poderosa en mi vida y la persona más graciosa que conozco.

Since I got in touch with Mario, he gave me a good feeling and after reading his answers, I want to go out for a drink with him :)

How would you describe yourself at this point in your life?

I would say I'm in a stage of constant evolution. I like to observe what's around me, absorb it and apply it both in my work and in my personal life. I've always been curious about what I don't know, and that openness to change is what allows me to keep growing. Adapting, reinventing myself and continuing to be inspired is an essential part of my daily life as a florist.

The Coolest project you have worked on is...

Every project has something special, and I always try to give my all on each one. But if I have to choose, I remember very fondly the presentation of the Zimmermann brand when it arrived in Madrid. I had to create, almost from scratch, a garden in full bloom in an existing garden that was in a somewhat neglected condition. It was a beautiful challenge and very stimulating, both for the result and the process.

In everything around me. I like to look at the smallest details: a texture, an unexpected shape, a reflection of light. Sometimes inspiration is right there, in the everyday, you just have to learn to look at it with different eyes.

The Coolest books/movies for M are…

A film I love for its aesthetics and photography is Match Point. As for books, Truman Capote's Attended Prayers is one of the last ones I've read and it got me.

The Coolest places in Madrid for a beer/wine with friends?

Corchito. I love the variety of wines and the cosy atmosphere.

The Coolest place for a date in Madrid?

I love parks -I guess it's a professional deformation-. Strolling aimlessly, discovering new varieties, observing how nature changes. The Rose Garden in the Parque del Oeste is one of my favourite spots. There is something magical about roses, and there you can see so many varieties in a very special setting.

M, who is The Coolest person you know?

My boyfriend. For his way of seeing the world, his wit and his friendliness. He is a silent but powerful inspiration in my life and the funniest person I know.
